Mullen Automotive will allow customers to retrofit new Solid-State Polymer Battery Pack, increasing EV range – Charged EVs

Southern California-based Commercial EV manufacturer Mullen Automotive has two vehicle plants located in Tunica, Mississippi and Mishawaka, Indiana. It began EV production in Tunica in August 2023. Now the company is developing a new solid-state polymer battery pack that it says can almost double the range of its EVs, and it will allow existing customers to upgrade to the new pack when it’s ready.

Mullen began Class 1 EV cargo van road testing with the integrated solid-state polymer battery pack in February. Since then, the company has identified lead suppliers for development and components, and issued initial purchase orders.

The Mullen ONE van equipped with the solid-state polymer pack is scheduled for production in the second half of 2025. The solid-state polymer battery pack is expected to extend the potential range of the Mullen ONE from 110 miles to over 200 miles.

Mullen will offer a battery exchange program that will allow current cargo van customers meeting existing vehicle warranty requirements to upgrade their Li-ion battery packs to solid-state polymer battery packs.

“We value the investment and confidence that our customers place in our vehicles,” said David Michery, Chairman and CEO of Mullen Automotive. “As we hit new milestones, we are committed to sharing our technological advancements with all our early adopters and this battery exchange program will allow customers the opportunity to upgrade to our solid-state pack.”
