HDB conducts cyberattack simulation in collaboration with Google Mandiant
The Housing and Development Bank (HDB) has conducted a tabletop exercise simulating a cyberattack, in collaboration with Google Mandiant, a global leader in cybersecurity and incident response.
The exercise aimed to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of the bank’s cybersecurity incident response plans and the readiness of its teams to handle potential digital threats. Through practical, scenario-based simulations, the training tested HDB’s ability to respond swiftly and effectively to cyber incidents, while proactively identifying and addressing vulnerabilities.
The initiative forms part of HDB’s ongoing strategy to reinforce its cybersecurity framework, in line with the Central Bank of Egypt’s (CBE) directives to ensure a secure and resilient digital banking environment. It also supports the bank’s 2025–2030 digital transformation plan, which seeks to establish an integrated digital ecosystem aligned with evolving market needs.
HDB continues to collaborate with leading global technology partners to adopt advanced digital solutions that enhance performance, operational resilience, and its position as one of Egypt’s leading full-service commercial banks.
