Al-Sisi, Al-Sharaa discuss Syrian stability, regional cooperation
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi met with Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa on Tuesday on the sidelines of the Extraordinary Arab Summit held in the New Administrative Capital.
According to Egyptian Presidency Spokesperson Mohamed El-Shennawy, Al-Sisi began the meeting by affirming Egypt’s commitment to supporting the Syrian people, fulfilling their aspirations, and respecting their will and choices in achieving stability and development.
He noted the importance of launching a comprehensive political process that includes all components of the Syrian people without excluding any party.
El-Shennawy added that Al-Sisi emphasized Egypt’s commitment to the unity and integrity of Syrian territory. He affirmed Egypt’s rejection of any encroachment on Syrian land.
President Al-Sharaa, on his part, affirmed his desire to start a new chapter of brotherly relations with Arab countries, especially Egypt.
He indicated his desire for joint work with Egypt to achieve the interests of both countries and the Arab nation. He also expressed appreciation for Egyptian efforts supporting the unity and integrity of Arab countries and the restoration of regional stability.
