Al-Sisi, Macron discuss Gaza, Syria, Lebanon in phone call

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and French President Emmanuel Macron discussed regional developments, including the situation in Gaza, Syria, and Lebanon, in a phone call Wednesday.

The two leaders reaffirmed their countries’ close relationship and commitment to enhanced cooperation, emphasizing the importance of continued consultation on regional and international issues, according to presidential spokesperson Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy.

Al-Sisi reviewed Egypt’s efforts to ensure full implementation of the Gaza ceasefire, including the exchange of hostages and detainees and humanitarian aid delivery. He outlined plans for urgent Gaza reconstruction to restore stability. Al-Sisi stressed the international community’s role in supporting the two-state solution as essential for regional stability.

Macron expressed appreciation for Egypt’s efforts and its key role in regional stability, reaffirming France’s support.
The presidents also discussed Syria, expressing commitment to its unity and territorial integrity.

Regarding Lebanon, they affirmed support for its presidency and government, emphasizing the importance of upholding the ceasefire to restore stability and enable Lebanon to achieve its people’s aspirations for security and prosperity.
