Housing Minister reviews progress at alternative site for Samla, Alam Al-Roum
Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Sherif El-Sherbiny held a meeting to review progress on ongoing works at the site designated as an alternative location for the Samla and Alam Al-Roum areas, as well as to assess the current status of compensation procedures for affected residents.
During the meeting, officials presented a detailed overview of the compensation framework for residents of Samla and Alam Al-Roum, outlining the mechanisms in place to safeguard citizens’ rights and ensure fair and timely entitlements.
The review also covered developments at the alternative site located within the forested area, with updates on the steps completed to prepare the location and facilitate a smooth and orderly transition in a manner that balances the public interest with the needs of residents.
At the conclusion of the meeting, El-Sherbiny stressed the importance of accelerating inventory and compensation procedures to increase handover rates and maintain the momentum of ongoing development projects. He also emphasised the need for close follow-up and comprehensive review of all related files and projects to ensure rapid implementation and the achievement of integrated urban development in line with the ministry’s strategic vision.
The minister further directed that the master plan for the alternative Bedouin community should incorporate all essential services, including educational, healthcare, and commercial facilities, to fully meet residents’ needs. He also underscored the importance of strict adherence to approved project timelines to ensure timely delivery.
