MIDAR launches first social sports club in Mostakbal City with EGP 3bn investment
MIDAR for Investment and Urban Development, the master developer of Mostakbal City and MADA in New Cairo, has signed an agreement with Sporting for Investment and Sports Facilities (S.I.S.F), owned by Alexandria Sporting Club, to manage, operate and market the first social sports club in Phase Three of Mostakbal City.
The project spans more than 42 feddans and involves total investments exceeding EGP 3bn. It will be developed in three phases, with the first phase scheduled to become operational in the first half of 2027, offering a broad range of sports, social and recreational activities for residents of MIDAR’s developments and surrounding communities.
MIDAR will also roll out exclusive early registration packages, with club memberships opening by the end of 2026, alongside special benefits for residents of its cities.
Under the terms of the agreement, Sporting for Investment and Sports Facilities will be responsible for managing, operating and marketing the club’s sports, social and cultural activities on behalf of MIDAR, in full compliance with regulations issued by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and other relevant authorities. The agreement follows a previously signed memorandum of understanding between the two parties.
The club has been designed in line with international standards for sports facility planning and construction, incorporating a comprehensive mix of sports, social and cultural amenities. The first phase will include handball, basketball, volleyball, tennis and five-a-side football courts, fully equipped fitness centres, landscaped gardens and green spaces, a restaurant complex, children’s play areas, and a range of open spaces dedicated to social activities.
Ayman ElKousey, CEO and Managing Director of MIDAR for Investment and Urban Development, said the project represents a strategic step in strengthening sports and social infrastructure within Mostakbal City. He noted that it reflects MIDAR’s commitment to delivering an integrated lifestyle experience that combines sports, culture and entertainment.
ElKousey added that the project’s scale, investment value and diversity of activities reinforce Mostakbal City’s position as a comprehensive residential and sports destination, while also contributing to the development of Egypt’s sports infrastructure.
Meanwhile, Ahmed Hassan, Chairperson of Alexandria Sporting Club, welcomed the partnership with MIDAR, describing it as a key step towards providing a high-quality social sports experience for residents of Mostakbal City in New Cairo.
He highlighted Sporting Club’s long-standing track record in Alexandria and its standing among Egypt’s most prestigious sports institutions, adding that the club aims to build on this success by transforming the Mostakbal City project into a leading sports destination in New Cairo.
The announcement follows a recent agreement under which MIDAR became the master sponsor of Alexandria Sporting Club, covering sponsorship of all the club’s teams, sports activities, and social, cultural and recreational events.
